The Hoops Index for College Basketball
is now in it's 12th year. We will be updating our ratings and Top 30 on a daily basis. How
it works: The difference in the ratings of two teams is the outcome we would expect on a
neutral court. For example, a team with a rating of 100 should be able to beat a team with
a rating of 90 by 10 on a neutral court. Add 5 points for home court advantage. That's it!
If the 100 rated team is at home, we would expect them to win by 15. If you are still
confused, just relax. We do all the math for you. These are not gambling pointspreads.
These are simply our forecasts of game outcomes based on our Hoops Index formula.
